Tinga Tinga Tales is the musical of the widely acclaimed popular animated television series. Written by Claudia Lloyd, produced by Sheba Hirst, music by Eric Wainaina and choreographed by Mkamzee Mwatela—the show was a gloriously interactive and raucous stage musical. Based on the animation, the musical enlisted the talent of some of Kenya’s top-notch actors and a notable production crew. The cast included celebrated media personality and actor, John-Sibi Okumu, acclaimed singers Iddi Achieng’ & Phy, actor Elsaphan Njora and musical icon Eric Wainaina, among others. Studio Propolis, the amazing design duo alongside Kiko Romeo’s prodigious Ann McCreath brought the well-loved characters to life in an explosion of carnival colours and design.
