Tanzanian music star Rayvanny is having a great year! He is making his Coke Studio Africa debut this year, collaborating with Angola’s Dji Tafinha. He will also feature on a special episode Coke Studio dubbed ‘The Global Fusion Edition’ alongside Coke Studio Africa’s international guest star – the American Pop/R&B star Jason Derulo and 1o other talented African stars. They include Dela (Kenya), Bebe Cool (Uganda), Mr. Bow (Mozambique), Falz (Nigeria), Joey B (Ghana), Betty G (Ethiopia), Jah Prayzah (Zimbabwe), Shekhinah (South Africa), Locko (Cameroon) and Denise (Madagascar).
Speaking at a Nairobi press conference held the Stanley Hotel unveiling all the artistes, Rayvanny said, “Being on Coke Studio has been so good for me and working with Jason Derulo has been great – we did something amazing for you,” revealing, “You should expect nothing but the best. I am so happy to be here because it was a dream to be here. Big thanks to Coke Studio – music brings us together”
Two acclaimed African music producers: DJ Maphorisa (South Africa) Masterkraft (Nigeria) will be producing all the music of the Global Fusion Edition. All the music will be performed and recorded live alongside Coke Studio’s highly talented house band. The new season is set to premiere in different regions from September this year and will broadcast in more than 30 countries across Africa.
Rayvanny is the only East African artiste nominated at this year’s BET Awards that will be held on June 25, 2017 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. He spoke about this. “I have good news to share with you as I am one of the nominees at BET Awards this year. I am asking you guys to push the hashtag #IpickRayvanny.” The 2017 BET Awards.
