Known for his unique hip-hop sounds fused in afro beat vibes, Neyo P—the Nigeria born rapper based in Lagos is in Nairobi for a musical sejour, under which he is releasing twin videos and audios for: “Everything Pure” and “One Time”. With his rap best described as a blend of Dagrin and 50 Cent-esque style, Neyo P is coming out strong with these fresh records, set to feature in his EP “4:19” slated for a 2018 release under the record label, “Lagos Outskirt Music”.

Neyo P hopes that his upcoming EP will perform better that his debut album: Back Street Class, and is convinced that his time in East Africa and specifically Kenya, will make this possible because of the artistic inspiration flowing around the region. Ahead of his releases, Neyo P says: “So many people are afraid of failure, but what I’ve learned is that failure is a great teacher and if you’re open to it, every mistake has a lesson to offer. I have learned more from failure than success, am not afraid of anything.”

While in Nairobi, he is looking to work with various acts including Harmonize, Nessa and Msupa S. He looks up to African stars like Angelique Kidjo, Dr Alban. He adds, “My goal is to reach the world with my rap, and local dialect (Yoruba and Pidgin) because hip – hop is a force in the world and I realize that like all art, it holds up a mirror to society and shows us who we. I want to reflect what people are feeling and thinking.”

Isaiah James popularly known by his stage name Neyo P comes. His label, Lagos Outskirt music outreach is an independent Music record Label whose vision is to spread music all across Africa and to the world, and to help support young up coming act, and get young youths off the street through music. Regarding Neyo P’s Lagos Outskirt music outreach, he says: “My first album, which in a small circle is a classic album, didn’t sell massive numbers worldwide; making it a huge lesson to me in the music business and inspires me to get my own independent record label,” adding, “I set the trend, I don’t follow, and that’s my goal.”


Fadhilee Itulya is among Kenya’s most authentic world music artistes. For a long time, he’s been working towards supporting other acts by providing art spaces for intimate performances. It’s his time now—come witness the anticipated launch of his debut album: KWETU set to drop 27th April 2018 at the Alliance Francaise, Nairobi.

Ahead of the anticipated launch, Fadhilee says, “I am so excited to finally share this work of art with my fans. A few bonus tracks will also feature the percussive original Luyha Isukuti tunes for the listeners to experience a journey of discovering old local nuggets incorporated into his music. He also fuses sounds and chants from across the African continent as well as global conventional styles of music including World & EDM music on the first release off the album – “Freedom”. Fadhilee is daringly different with a unique sound, which has managed to capture music fans across the globe. His artistry is composed of his reliance on collaboration with fellow artistes in efforts to produce innovative sounds, and promote knowledge development in the field of Africa’s robust Arts and Culture.

Africa’s leading girl – group, based in Nigeria SHiiKANE are releasing their latest smash hit single titled ANSWER ME in East Africa, in preparation of their upcoming media tour to the region. Renowned for their slew of hit songs including: “Oga Police”, “Zuga” and “Loke”; SHiiKANE also announce their plans to release their debut album.

ANSWER ME is written by  SHiiKANE and produced by Dr. Amir who perfectly delivers on Ghanaian Tonga sounds with an R&B fusion in the song. The single is set to feature in SHiiKANE’s debut album slated for release in May 2018. Speaking of their East African release and plans, the group says, “We are focusing on East Africa as it has always been a place close to our hearts. Since the release of “Oga Police” – one of our biggest hits, we have been receiving so much love from East Africa and Tanzania in particular. With “Answer Me” we officially launch in East Africa and confirm that we are planning of hosting major concerts and promotional tours in the region.”

It’s not SHiiKANE’s first time to touch on East Africa. USA-based Kenyan songstress, Mumbi, is back to Kenya and set to launch her debut EP “For The Culture” (released 30th of April 2018) from East Africa. Known for her diverse sound that blends afro-house, soul, R&B and hip hop, Mumbi is set for her biggest career move that has now birthed the 5– track EP featuring the singles: “Yours”, “Intro”, “Soweto”, “Good Enough” and “Too Much”.

Speaking to her Kenyan fans, Mumbi says: “At this point my fans and I are technically dating. My music is my diary. So if you love my music we’re pretty much together. Can’t wait to see you all!” Speaking on “For The Culture” EP and her return to Kenya, Mumbi says: “I chose to launch the EP in Kenya because everything begins at home. One Vibe Africa and What’s Good Studios are proud to announce a formal partnership that commenced on Feb 2018 at the exclusive Africa Premier of Black Panther in Kisumu. The partnership has since launched a new campaign dubbed “#RoadToMadaraka (RTM)” which is a documentary about the collaboration of young creatives from the two organizations with their counterparts in Seattle, Washington. The documentary covers the partnership of these youth from the slum of Kisumu and Nairobi and their journey to Seattle where they will attend creative workshops, panel discussions, and focused group boot camps, which will be hosted at the iconic Museum of Pop Culture (MoPop). Youth from underprivileged backgrounds in Seattle served by organizations such as Seattle Theatre Group, Arts Corps, Seattle International Film Festival, MoPOP, and other organizations in the Pacific Northwest have also confirmed participation.

 RTM is set to fundraise for the travel expenses for the Kenyan youth supported by a strong delegation of Kenyan artists and social entrepreneurs that are also traveling to Seattle where the delegation will participate in music and video production at the legendary Robert Lang Studios with two-time Grammy winning producer – Maurice Jones Jr. The highlights of RTM will be on May 25th when the delegation will be at Seattle Art Museum’s Olympic Sculpture Park for One Vibe Africa’s 2nd Annual Fundraising Dinner and June 1st & 2nd at Upstream Music Fest & Summit where One Vibe Africa is guest curating the first International African Stage. Kenya will be represented by Nazizi and Nairobi Horns Project while Samini will represent Ghana, Aramide represents Nigeria, Amen Vienna represents Togo, Mr. Reed Represents New York, and Caleb Cunningham & PLH represent the rich musical herigate of Seattle. The partnership will culminate into Kenya’s debut Madaraka Festival slated for December 2018.
